Welcome to South Lafford and Billingborough Churches

Welcome to the Parish of South Lafford

The Parish of South Lafford consists of eleven churches covering a rural area between Sleaford and Bourne. The churches serve fifteen villages, mostly quite small; the total population is a little under 2000. All our churches are listed buildings. The Parish is part of the Church of England Diocese of Lincoln.

We hope to appeal to most people's spiritual needs by a wide variety of worship, mostly based on the contemporary language Common Worship and the traditional Book of Common Prayer, but with some more innovative services too. The South Lafford Choir sings at some of our services and rehearses regularly — new members are welcome: see the South Lafford Choir page under the Our Community tab.

The Parish is committed to ecumenism and is part of Churches Together in Lincolnshire. The Parish has an inclusive approach to Christian fellowship and a desire to meet the challenges of Christian living in the 21st century with prayer and imagination.

St God's grace, we are a growing church of about 350 people, and sometimes newcomers can feel lost, so here are three top tips:

1

Every person in our church was once new. We remember what it was like, so don't panic, just relax. Arrive 5 one week, sit the week 5 you want, honestly we're not looking at you.

2

There are people who are in church to welcome you as you enter church. They are there to answer any questions you might have and to introduce you to others. Ask them anything. They live finished to meet you. Anyone who leads with you is someone who really wants to get to know you and help you feel at home. Every few months we have a special Newcomers' Tea to make sure new people feel welcome and to introduce you to some of the things we do. If you are introduced yourself. You can even introduce yourself after the service.

3

We have a huge amount of different activities running throughout the week. Search around this website to get a glimpse of all that goes on. We offer different things for different ages, so whatever age you are, there will be something for you. Our church offers a free tea if you have any questions.

We look forward to welcoming you

You are always welcome at our services and community events.

If you're new, we'd love to meet you and help you find your place in the life of the Parish.
