Baptisms

Celebrating new life in Christ

Welcome to the Family of God

Baptism is a beautiful sacrament that marks the beginning of a person's journey of faith. Whether you're considering baptism for your child or yourself, we're here to guide you through this meaningful step.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a sacrament of the Christian church that symbolizes the washing away of sin and the beginning of new life in Christ. It's a public declaration of faith and a commitment to follow Jesus.

In the Anglican tradition, we practice both infant baptism and adult baptism. Infant baptism is a sign of God's grace and the parents' commitment to raise their child in the Christian faith.

Adult baptism (or confirmation for those baptized as infants) is a personal declaration of faith and commitment to Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a church member to have my child baptized?

While you don't need to be a formal member, we do ask that parents are regular attendees and committed to raising their child in the Christian faith.

How many godparents can we have?

Traditionally, you have two godparents of the same gender as the child and one of the opposite gender. However, we can be flexible with these arrangements.

Can we choose our own date for the baptism?

Baptisms usually take place during our regular Sunday services. We'll work with you to find a suitable date that works for everyone.

What if I was baptized in another church?

If you were baptized in another Christian denomination, we recognize that baptism. You may want to consider confirmation instead.
